Dreaming Big, Dreaming Bigger

Dreaming Big, Dreaming Bigger

Marianne Williamson spoke at the Taos Public Library on Thursday May 23 and I had a front row seat. I was so excited. Marianne embodies what I wish all politics could become–a language and an agenda of wise, practical, and heart-centered understanding of what people most want and need– which is to have equal opportunity, be safe, provided for, included and valued. Marianne Williamson embodies the kind of fierce love we need to stand up for just these things, and I believe she has no illusions about the severity of the challenges we face.

I Was So Inspired

I was so inspired, not only by what she has to say, but by the fact that she continues to speak passionately all over the country, even though she is out of the race for president. For me she demonstrates the courage of a Gandhi and a Martin Luther King Jr. in urging us to come together and save ourselves from divisiveness, violence and tyranny. She has been labeled a kook and the crystal lady, and completely blacked out from the media, but all that bad press has not stopped her from sharing her message of hope for peace and the ultimate sustainability of America and people everywhere.

No matter what you may think or what you may have heard about Marianne, I left her talk inspired to be my biggest self, to share America in Therapy and commit fearlessly to our collective healing and the possibility of peace in America and on earth. And for that I am so grateful.

Dreaming Big, Dreaming Bigger

There is a saying I once heard that went something like this: “If it isn’t difficult, it isn’t big enough.” We live in a time that is calling all of us to think and act bigger than we might ever have imagined. Father Gregory Boyle said “We imagine a world without prisons and then we build that world.” And I would add to that, “Let us dream of a country and a world without divisiveness, violence, or war, and build that world.” There is absolutely nothing to say we can’t do it except the naysayers in our midst and the naysayers inside ourselves. Marianne referenced how we dared to dream big when we abolished slavery, gave women the right to vote, and ended segregation. Clearly that work is far from done, but we started the ball rolling through the sheer force of our will to champion human rights, and though there are many who want to roll that progress backwards, I take hope and inspiration from all those who are willing to put every ounce of their energy and life force on the line to keep the uphill surge going.

Answering The Call Of Your Own Dream

When I was young, I could barely speak up for myself. Sometimes it literally felt like my mouth would not open, even if I had something I desperately wanted to say. All my healing work over many years unlocked my jaw, opened my throat and impelled me to speak aloud what my deepest self dreamed of sharing. And if I had not listened, if I had not dreamed that big dream, I would not have been able to keep walking through all the fires that have come up along the way of writing America in Therapy— and keep talking about how, together, we can put out the fires of all that divides us. I take inspiration from everyone walking that road with me. This isn’t one-man, one-woman job.

Don’t Listen To The Naysayers

So I say this to myself again and again, and I say it to you– don’t listen to the naysayers in your head or in the world around you. If we dream big enough, anything is possible. Please, take on something even bigger than you thought you could do. We need you, we need all of us.

Thank you, Marianne. I was so inspired by you!

Breaking But Not Broken

Breaking But Not Broken

Jan 5, 2026 | #Psyche&Soul, Blogs

Many years ago, I read an unforgettable story. In the rubble of a Nazi concentration camp, the body of a man was found with one hand still clutching a crumpled piece of paper on which he had scribbled these words, “Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do.” This man did not succumb to hate even in the worst hour of persecution. He died with loving compassion and forgiveness for his tormentors.
